Fixed term for two years from 1 June 2007 to 31 May 2009
The post-holder will work in the Centre for the Study of Group Processes, University of Kent with Professor Richard Crisp on a programme examining the psychological and behavioural impact of multiculturalism and multiple category contact. The objectives are to determine: (1) The social, cultural and ideological antecedents of the development of flexible multiple categorization skills (2) the impact of flexible multiple categorization skills on social attitudes and behaviour, as well as more generalized cognitive abilities and self-efficacy.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology (or expect one to be awarded in the near future) and a background in experimental and/or quantitative methodology. A background in social cognition and intergroup relations is desirable.
