We are currently looking for highly motivated individuals with relevant career experience to be part of this new process of increasing our operations and impact in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Oceania for the post of Country Directors.
Key duties include:

(a) Ensure effective and efficient management.

(b) Supervise and give guidance to program managers on project design, implementation, evaluation, and personnel issues.

(c) Prepare detailed implementation plan, collect baseline data and develop operational procedures for the implementation of the new programs.

(d) Ensure compliance with IFFRD and donors of operational and financial policies and procedures and reporting requirements; track grant spending.

(e) Hire, Train and Coordinate all IFFRD local staff members for purposes of monitoring and evaluation of all international donor programs.

(f) Prepare monthly, semi-annual, and final program reports.

(g) Coordinate and maintain professional working relations with local authorities, private organizations, and communities.

(h) Maintain good working relationships with donors, Government of Host Country, and collaborating institutions, with frequent visits to research project sites and communities.

(i) Research and identify funding sources, proposal requirements, and submittal deadline for new programs in Host Country.

(j) Write, edit, and proofread proposals to be submitted to donor agencies and private funding sources.

(k) Secure new funding and extension funding for existing IFFRD programs. Increase IFFRD’s local, national and international visibility through public relations.

(l) Provide leadership and develop IFFRD’s loan and grant financed rural poverty reduction programs at the country and sub-regional levels, through innovative and sustainable approaches. Prudent management of large funds. Perform additional assignments as requested and may require 25 % travel.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: - Minimum of 7 years management experience. - Bachelor’s degree in science, social science or the arts is required; Advance degree preferred with at least 3 years relevant experience in international development activities. - Demonstrated ability to manage a series of complex, new and on going activities, as well as provide leadership in a research/development environment. - Fluent English; knowledge of French may be an added advantage. - High degree of integrity and amiable disposition desirable in building appropriate internal and external relationships.

Includes housing allowance, paid home leave travel, a pension scheme, life and health insurance, vehicle for business and personal use, work mobility allowance (relocation/resettlement), education grant, rental subsidy, dependency allowance, repatriation grant, assignment grant, and sick leave of up to ninety days on full salary within the calendar year.
