The Psychology of Love

The Student Recommended Faculty Program (SRFP) of the University of California, Irvine, seeks a lecturer from outside UC--Irvine for a one-year appointment during the 2007-2008 academic year in the Department of Psychology and Social Behavior. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses relevant to the Psychology of Love. Proposed courses might include but need not be limited to: Love and Emotions; Psychology of Attraction; “Big Love”: Transcending the Norm (nontraditional relationships); Cross-Cultural Psychology of Love; Social Psychology of Friendship; Love over the Lifespan, and Human Sexuality. The applicant may propose additional courses of his/her choice in any area of the Psychology of Love. A Ph.D. is required, as is a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
