PSYCHOLOGY:
The School of Communication at Emerson College seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in Psychology beginning September 2007. The College seeks a faculty colleague with teaching and research interests in one or more of the following areas: cultural diversity, personality & adjustment, developmental, group & organizational behavior, attitudes & persuasion, cognition or related studies. Candidates must have (or be near completion of) a PhD in psychology, a teaching plan, and research experience. Responsibilities include developing and teaching general education courses that satisfy the requirements of the College’s various majors and participation in the Institute for Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies. Because a full liberal arts education is offered to undergraduates in majors including film/media studies; performing arts; writing, literature, and publishing; journalism; marketing communication;
organizational and political communication, and communication sciences and disorders, the College seeks candidates who can bridge psychology with these majors.

Emerson College values campus multiculturalism as demonstrated by the diversity of its faculty, staff, student body, and constantly evolving curriculum. The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Members of historically under-represented groups are encouraged to apply.
Emerson College is an Equal Opportunity Employer that encourages diversity in its workplace.

Send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, selected reprints, information on teaching experience, and three letters of recommendation to Dorothy Aram, Chair, Psychology Search Committee, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, School of Communication, 120 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116. Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2006 and continue until the position is filled.

Emerson College is the nation’s only four-year institution dedicated exclusively to majors in communication and the arts.
