| Assistant Professor -- Social Psychology | | | | | | | The Department of Psychology at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for two tenure-track, assistant-level positions: one in social psychology, and one in developmental psychology. Both new PhDs and individuals with postdoctoral experience are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be expected to maintain an active research program, demonstrate potential to secure extramural funding, direct doctoral students, and contribute to undergraduate education. Both positions begin in August of 2007, and applicants must have a PhD in psychology by the time of appointment. Applications from women and minorities are especially welcome. Social Position: Applications will be accepted from any area of social psychology, but preference will be given to applicants whose research and teaching interests complement the social area’s current emphases on the self, interpersonal relationships, social cognition, and emotion. Developmental Position: We seek a developmental psychologist with an emphasis on social/emotional development. Preference will be given to applicants with a focus on childhood or adolescent development. In addition to content focus, expertise in developmental methodology will also be used as a hiring criterion.
