University Lectureship in Social or Developmental Psychology
and
Temporary Lectureship in Social or Developmental Psychology

Applications are invited for both a University Lectureship and a Temporary Lectureship in Social or Developmental Psychology from 1st September 2006, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Department wishes to appoint developmental or social psychologists able to establish strong research programmes in any area of developmental or social psychology, and to contribute to its teaching programme in central areas of developmental and social psychology as well as research methods/data analysis. In addition to the permanent Lectureship, we hope to appoint a Temporary Lecturer for a fixed term of two years. Applicants will be considered for both positions unless they request otherwise.

Applicants should submit nine copies, to include a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a personal statement, the University’s Cover Sheet for Employment (Form PD18, may be obtained from the Faculty’s website at www.sps.cam.ac.uk or from Dr Griffin). Applications should also include the names, addresses and contact details of three referees, and candidates should ask their referees to send references to Dr Griffin by April 24, 2006. Candidates are asked to provide samples of their work (see the further particulars for details). Short-listed candidates may be invited to come to Cambridge to give a short seminar presentation on May 18 on an aspect of their current research and may subsequently be invited to attend for formal interview with the Faculty’s Appointments Committee on May 19.

In common with many other Higher Education Institutions, the University is currently reviewing its arrangements for grading and pay. A new grading and pay structure is proposed based on a single job evaluation scheme and implementation is planned to take place during 2006.
