| Visiting Assistant Professor, Social Psychology | | | | | | | New College of Florida is seeking candidates for a one-year appointment as visiting assistant professor of Social Psychology for the academic year 2006-2007. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching two undergraduate courses or seminars each semester (Fall and Spring) in social psychology or related areas. Additional responsibilities may include working with bright and motivated undergraduates in tutorial settings and supervising independent research projects. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology (Social Psychology or related major) and successful undergraduate teaching experience. New College of Florida, the nationally recognized honors college of the Florida State University System, is a small, highly selective, innovative liberal arts institution located in Sarasota, on Florida’s gulf coast. Students, with the help of faculty sponsors, plan their own academic program through a series of semester contracts, and receive narrative evaluations in lieu of grades. All students complete a senior thesis project, which in psychology involves empirical research.
