The Department of Psychology at Arizona State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology, at the Assistant Professor level, to begin Fall 2006. Requirements for this position include: evidence of potential to make high quality research contributions employing an approach that appreciates the complexity underlying human social behavior; evidence of potential to obtain external research funding; commitment to quality teaching and mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels; and a doctorate in Psychology, or closely related discipline, at time of appointment. Research interests involving cultural influences on social behavior are especially desirable. The fourteen members of the ASU Social Psychology Program are highly research and grant active and have a long history of collaborating with one another, with other Psychology faculty, and with faculty in disciplines across the university. Current research is built upon strong theoretical and quantitative foundations and focuses on issues ranging from the basic to the applied.

Review of applications will begin November 1, 2005, with all applications received by 12/1/2005 receiving full consideration; if not filled, applications will be reviewed bi-weekly thereafter until the search is closed. Applicants must submit curriculum vitae, representative publications or preprints, and statements of research and teaching interests to Dr. Steven L. Neuberg, Social Psychology Search Chair, Department of Psychology, Box 871104, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ 85287-1104, and also arrange to have three letters of reference sent directly to Dr. Neuberg at this address. Arizona State University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer, and the Department of Psychology values diversity among faculty, staff, and students. In line with Arizona Board of Regents’ policy, a background check is required for employment.
