The Department of Psychology at Penn State seeks to hire a Social Psychologist in a tenure-track appointment beginning in the Fall of 2005. Rank and area of specialization are open. However, applicants who contribute to one of the department initiatives (social neuroscience and multicultural research) and/or people whose expertise would compliment and extend the foci currently represented in the social area are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. by the time of appointment and should demonstrate excellence in research and a strong commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to research, and demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high quality research program leading to scholarly productivity and potential for external funding. Review of applications begins October 7th, 2004 and will continue until the position is filled. Women and members of underrepresented ethnic and racial groups are especially encouraged to apply.
