The Department of Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship as part of an NIMH-funded training program focused on adaptive functioning in diverse sociocultural, environmental, and developmental contexts. The department has emphases in four areas (Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social/Personality Psychology, and Psychopathology/Behavioral Disorder) and individuals examining issues relevant to human health and well-being from any of these perspectives are encouraged to apply. Fellows will participate in a mentor-based training program with one or more of the core faculty involved in the training program (for a list of departmental faculty, see our web page at http://www.seweb.uci.edu/psb/. Faculty interests include stress and coping, cognitive and biobehavioral processes in health behavior, cognition and emotion, social development and developmental transitions across the life span, cultural influences on cognition and behavior, psychology and law, aging and health, and societal problems such as violence and unemployment. Applicants should submit a letter of interest and proposed goals for the fellowship, curriculum vitae, and representative papers, and should arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to: Chair, Postdoctoral Search Committee, Department of Psychology and Social Behavior, 3340 Social Ecology II, University of California, Irvine, 92697-7085.
