The Psychology Department at the University of Utah is searching for an assistant or associate professor in social-health psychology. The ad that will appear in the APA Monitor and APS Observer is included below. The social program focuses on social cognitive/motivational processes that underlie individuals' regulation of themselves and others in diverse social and physical environments. We are seeking someone who focuses on these mediating processes in the context of health-related issues, to build on the strengths of both the social program and the cross-area health program. Our goal is to educate students broadly on the social cognitive and motivational aspects of health relevant phenomena, which has been an important part of the identity and national visibility of both the social and health programs. Please consider applying for this position yourself, and/or encouraging others to apply that you think would be interested and competitive. If you have questions or want further information, you can email Carol Sansone (sansone@psych.utah.edu). In addition, Fred Rhodewalt and Carol Sansone will be attending SESP in St. Louis, and will be happy to talk with you. Finally, you can check out our web site at http://www.psych.utah.edu/soc/soctemp/social/main_s.html, which has links both to the cross-area health program and the department at large.
