Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology, and the qualifications necessary to teach in core areas of Social Psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They should also have a proven record of research and be able to supervise postgraduate students. The Department is one of the largest in New Zealand, with more than 750 equivalent full-time students, 32 tenure-track academic staff, and 12 administrative and technical support staff. It offers Bachelors, Honours, Masters, and PhD degrees in Psychology, and specialized postgraduate qualifications in clinical, health, and applied psychology. The Department has strengths in teaching and research in social psychology, community psychology, developmental psychology, clinical psychology, health psychology; gender and critical psychology, psychology of social issues, evolutionary psychology, experimental analysis of behaviour, cognitive neuroscience, applied cognition, human factors, and psychophysics.
