Job Type: Tenure-Track
Contact Person: Liane Young

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience of Boston College is conducting an open area tenure-track search for an assistant professor to begin July 1, 2024. This is part of a larger cluster hire in African and African Diaspora Studies (AADS), and the position is a joint appointment in Psychology and Neuroscience and AADS. The successful candidate will be a core faculty member in the AADS Program, and their tenure home will be in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. We strongly encourage applications from candidates from underrepresented groups in academia, and we are interested in a broad range of research topics and approaches (i.e., social, developmental, behavioral neuroscience, quantitative, cognitive neuroscience) that applicants may bring to the department and the program.

The rank is Assistant Professor, but for qualified candidates, appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level may be possible. Applicants will be evaluated on their potential to establish a prominent, externally funded research program and to excel in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Applicants should apply at:

https://apply.interfolio.com/129408

and provide PDFs of a cover letter, CV, research statement, teaching statement, and a description of commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive academic community. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of reference submitted directly by their letter writers, using the "request recommendations" link on Interfolio. These letter writers should be named in the cover letter. All materials must be submitted on or before September 24, 2023 for full consideration. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. For inquiries about the position please contact Liane Young (liane.young@bc.edu). For assistance with submitting your application please email psychoffice@bc.edu.
