In addition to a masters program, faculty contribute to Wesleyan's interdisciplinary programs in Neuroscience and Behavior, Science and Society, and Women's Studies. The Department of Psychology seeks to appoint a social psychologist at the assistant professor level (tenure track). Area of specialization is open; however, special consideration will be given to candidates with a research focus in minority issues. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research is expected. The ideal candidate should be capable of instituting a competitive research program that incorporates undergraduates, and be prepared to teach an introductory course in Social Psychology, a department service course in Introductory Psychology, Statistics, or Methods, and two more specialized courses in an area of expertise.
