Visiting Assistant Professor in Social Psychology. The Department of Psychology at Wesleyan University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor in social psychology to begin September 1, 2022. Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate teaching experience. The appointment carries a 3-2 teaching load, and is for one year with possibility of renewal for a second year based on performance. The successful candidate will teach courses in social psychology, research methods in diversity science, and seminars in the area of social psychology. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate majors. A Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment is required to be hired at the Assistant Professor level; appointment as an instructor is possible for a successful A.B.D. candidate.

The Department of Psychology currently has 18 full-time faculty members in the areas of neuroscience, psychopathology, cognitive, developmental, cultural, and social psychology. Wesleyan faculty have a strong commitment to scholarship, undergraduate teaching, and civic engagement, and the Department is home to Social Psychology Network — http://www.socialpsychology.org — a nonprofit educational organization that promotes peace, social justice, and sustainable living through public education, research, and the advancement of psychology.
