Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology – Two-Year Appointment 2022-2024

Position Summary: The Department of Psychology at Gettysburg College invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology beginning August 2022. Area of research specialization is open. The teaching load for this position will be three courses per semester, where either a lecture or laboratory section is considered to be one course. Teaching responsibilities will include Introductory Psychology, a 200-level course in the candidate’s area of specialization, and an advanced laboratory course in the candidate’s research area. Candidates will also have access to their own laboratory space and the opportunity to work directly with undergraduate students as research assistants and independent study students.

Qualifications: Candidates should have a doctorate (or be ABD) in Psychology. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who are committed to mentoring and educating a broad range of students but particularly those students who are traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, and those with active research programs that can offer research opportunities to students.
