The VA Boston Healthcare System seeks a Research Coordinator for the Women’s Health Sciences Division (WHSD) of the National Center for PTSD located in Boston, MA. The WHSD includes an extensive portfolio (in FY16) of approximately 40 funded research projects and programs, with a total annual budget of over $2.5 million. The 11 doctorally trained core investigators at WHSD are highly productive academically and contribute to a large, vibrant pre and postdoctoral training program. Potential candidates will have an MA or Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g., MPH), with training in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.

The Research Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two projects. The first project is a study aimed at testing the value of a web-based intervention that provides military veterans with tailored feedback and resource recommendations related to areas of unmet need with regard to key social determinants of health (PI: Dawne Vogt, PhD). The second project is a nationwide peer-support network for women Veterans aimed at improving well-being and quality of life by increasing social support (PIs: Tara Galovski, PhD and Amy Street, PhD). Both projects include both qualitative and quantitative research aims. This person will also have the opportunity to get involved in other projects on topics related to stress/trauma, mental health, and women’s health and will have the opportunity to coauthor presentations and publications based on the results of these analyses.

The position is a one-year full-time appointment, with the possibility of renewal. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience. The mission of WHSD is to advance the clinical care and social welfare of women Veterans and others who have experienced trauma, or who suffer from PTSD, through research, education, and training in the science, diagnosis, and treatment of PTSD and stress-related disorders.

Visit the WHSD homepage at https://www.ptsd.va.gov/about/divisions/womens/ for more details. Competitive candidates for this position should have advanced training in both quantitative and qualitative methods, and interest in contributing to WHSD’s program of research on topics related to stress/trauma, mental health, social determinants of health, and women’s health. U.S. citizen status is required.

Interested candidates should submit electronically a letter of interest and CV directly to: Dr. Shelby Borowski (shelby.borowski@va.gov). Applications will be reviewed as received and will be accepted until the position is filled. Letters of recommendation will be requested later in the process.

The VA Boston Healthcare System is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
