The Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) and the School for Psychology and Artificial Intelligence, Radboud University, invite applications for an Assistant Professor position. We are seeking a faculty member to strengthen and expand our research programme Behavioural Change and Well-being (BCW) and our teaching programme in Social and Cultural Psychology in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programme in Psychology and the Research Master's degree programme in Behavioural Science.

As a team member of the BCW research programme, you will be expected to strengthen and expand the expertise and research on fundamental processes concerning the regulation of behaviour in social contexts. Societal or broader impact of your research will be highly valued (e.g. by employing your theoretical ideas in designing new behaviour change interventions). We expect that you will conduct your research in close collaboration with other researchers. In line with the BCW programme's current practice and aims for solid science, we expect that your future studies will be highly powered and that parameters and criteria will be pre-registered. We expect applicants to regularly apply for grants. Preferably you have successful experience with applications for external grant-based funding.

As a member of the BSI, you will be encouraged and expected to collaborate across the divisional boundaries of research programmes within the BSI. There are many opportunities for such collaborations within research and committee work at the BSI. You will be expected to be active within one or more of the three programme themes of the institute (1) development and learning; (2) psychopathology, health and well-being; and 3) social processes and communication. Within the BSI, research is increasingly approached as team science. Therefore, you need to be able to collaborate within the BCW programme, but also within the BSI as a whole. As a member of the BSI, you can make use of all the facilities, expertise and services it provides, including the state-of-the-art lab facilities.

You will be teaching in the field of psychology, mostly in social psychology. Furthermore, you will supervise psychology students writing their Bachelor's and/or Master's theses. You will teach in the Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology, the Master's degree programme in Behaviour Change, and the Research Master's degree programme in Behavioural Science of the Behavioural Science Graduate School. Teaching will mainly be in English. Like research, we approach our teaching as teamwork and organise regular meetings to discuss challenges and to learn from each other. You will have a combined (50%) teaching and (50%) research position.

WE ASK:

You have a doctoral degree (PhD) in social psychology (or a related discipline).
You have published a number of international publications in prestigious, peer-reviewed journals, focused on fundamental research on the regulation of behaviour.
You have successfully coordinated research projects and have experience with supervising graduate students.
You have excellent qualifications in quantitative research methodology and have experience with various quantitative research paradigms.
You are an inspiring teacher with excellent teaching skills evidenced by a certificate (BKO, the Basic University Teaching Qualification, or similar).
You have developed a network of national and international partners.
You have affinity for knowledge dissemination and broader impact.
You are employing research practices that increase transparency in social sciences (e.g. pre-registration, data-sharing), or you have the willingness to adopt such an approach.
You have an excellent command of written and spoken English at the required C1 level.
You have a very good command of Dutch or the willingness to learn this language within two years.
You are willing to regularly apply for external grant-based funding. Evidence of earlier successful grant applications is highly valued.
You are a team player. That is, you have excellent social skills and the ability and desire to collaborate with colleagues within the BCW group, as well as with members of other disciplines within the Behavioural Science Institute.
You have the ability and willingness to contribute to organisational tasks within the group, BSI and/or School for Psychology and Artificial Intelligence .

Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
