De vakgroep Sociale en Organisatiepsychologie van de Faculteit der Psychologische, Pedagogische en Sociologische Wetenschappen zoekt versterking (v/m) voor het onderwijs en onderzoek van de leerstoelgroep Cognitieve Sociale Psychologie, voor 38 uur per week.
Het onderzoek van de leerstoelgroep Cognitieve Sociale Psychologie richt zich op experimenteel onderzoek naar de fundamentele aspecten van de sociale psychologie, zoals de invloed van situationele factoren op indruksvorming en gedrag; de automatische versus gecontroleerde verwerking van sociale informatie; de cognitieve processen die een rol spelen bij het ontstaan, activeren, en toepassen van stereotypen; de cognitieve processen die een rol spelen bij vertekeningen in zelfpercepties; de rol van cognitie in emoties.
De leerstoelgroep Cognitieve Sociale Psychologie beschikt over moderne onderzoeksfaciliteiten. Daarnaast biedt het Heymans Instituut (de afdeling Psychologie) nieuwe, veelbelovende docenten een budget van 13.636 euro (30.000 gulden) om hun onderzoek succesvol op te kunnen starten.
TAKEN: • Onderzoek doen op het gebied van de cognitieve sociale psychologie in het kader van het onderzoeksprogramma “Interpersoonlijk gedrag en individuele verschillen” • Regelmatig publiceren in internationale en nationale tijdschriften en boeken • Verzorgen van sociaal psychologische cursussen • Het begeleiden van studenten bij hun onderzoek, scripties en stages • Schrijven van subsidieaanvragen • Begeleiden van promovendi
EISEN: • (zo goed als) gepromoveerd op een onderwerp in de sociale of cognitieve psychologie • internationale publicaties bij voorkeur op het gebied van de (cognitieve) sociale psychologie • ervaring en affiniteit met het geven van onderwijs • goede didactische kwaliteiten

The Department of Psychology at the University of Groningen seeks a full time junior/senior lecturer/professor in the area of COGNITIVE SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY.
The social psychology program has currently 7 full time faculty, 3 postdocs and ten PhD students. The program provides the teaching in social psychology for the foundation phase as well as its own specialization (the latter currently being three years of study, but subject to adjustment with the introduction of the Bachelors/Master structure). The research of the social psychology program focuses on basic, cognitive social psychology as well as applied social psychology. The appointee would paticipate in the basic, cognitive social psychology program. The research of this program focuses on social cognition. Current reserach projects are concerned with context effects on judgment and behavior; automatic versus controlled information processing; cognitive processes underlying stereotype formation, activation, and application; cognitive processes underlying self-defense and biases in self-perception; the role of cognition in emotion. The research facilities for the cognitive social psychology program are excellent and have recently been updated.
The appointee would be required to teach and conduct research within the cognitive social psychology program.

Requirements:
- A PhD in social psychology or cognitive psychology
- International publications, preferably in the area of social cognition
- Teaching experience
- Teaching skills
- If Dutch is not his/her first language, the appointee would be expected to be
fluent in Dutch within two years.
