 Postdoctoral Researcher

Job Location: Massachusetts, U.S.A.
Job Type: Postdoctoral
Contact Person: Liane Young
Date Posted: November 16th, 2016
Closing Date: December 16th, 2016
Web Site: http://moralitylab.bc.edu/

The Morality Lab at Boston College is seeking a postdoctoral associate. The target start date is between Spring and Fall 2017.

Boston College is a research university with a strong and growing psychology department, located in an academic hub city with many opportunities for cross-lab collaboration. Members of the lab research diverse topics related to social and moral cognition (e.g., theory of mind for competition versus cooperation, prediction error in social and non-social contexts, the role of perspective taking in meta-ethical beliefs, perception of social categories, distinct moral values), using behavioral methods, fMRI, and TMS, in both typical and atypical populations, adults and children. Learn more about the lab by visiting our lab website (http://moralitylab.bc.edu/) or by contacting the PI (liane.young@bc.edu).

This position is fully funded for two years (minimum starting salary $47,476, in accordance with the Department of Labor’s Fair Labor Standards Act), with a possible extension to a third year. Candidates of any background are encouraged to apply, but ideal candidates may have experience with neuroimaging techniques and analysis (SPM, FSL, etc.), as well as strong quantitative and programming skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python). Candidates whose work bridges disciplines (e.g., between developmental and moral psychology, or cognitive and social neuroscience), as in the case of our former postdoctoral associates, may also be particularly suited for this position.

To apply, please email Liane Young (liane.young@bc.edu) with a CV and statement of current and future research interests. Please also arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to the same address and include “Morality Lab Postdoc Application” in the subject line of any correspondence.
