| Research Scientist | | | | | | | This position is responsible for researching and evaluating activities pertaining to juvenile crime and crime prevention. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, retrieving information from the juvenile justice system, social sciences database and the Internet; summarizing and reporting findings; assisting the research and evaluation team on special projects; preparing literature summaries of articles from scholarly journals and other sources; writing grant applications; preparing and making local, national, and international conference presentations; and working with graduate student assistant(s). In addition, the successful candidate will also be expected to use various statistical packages, e.g., SPSS, SAS, for data management to determine research results, and collaborate with State and other agencies and colleagues in designing research and evaluation projects. Conceptualizing, developing and designing quantitative and qualitative research designs pertaining to juvenile crime prevention and intervention is also vital to this position.
