The position, subject to budgetary approval, is at the Assistant Professor level and will commence July 1, 2002. Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Social Psychology and a strong record of teaching and research accomplishment in any area of social psychology. Applications from candidates with research interests in cross-cultural (e.g., aboriginal) or health (e.g., environment and health) issues are particularly welcome. There are numerous possibilities for collaborative research within the department and university, and in hospitals and other institutions in the Peterborough area. Research within the department is broadly focussed on Behavioural and Mental Health with sub-specialties that include aging, behavioural neuroscience, lifespan development, mental health and wellness, and women's health. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to become involved in Trent's interdisciplinary graduate programs, Applications of Modelling in the Natural and Social Sciences , Watershed Ecosystems (environment), Native Studies and the Trent-Queen's doctoral program. Candidates must have completed the PhD by the start of the appointment. Salary, which will be based on qualifications and experience, starts at CDN $45 989.
