We are seeking a distinguished, dynamic, and internationally recognised social psychologist to spearhead our existing research in social psychology. The post is available following the departure of the Establishment Chair in Psychology, Professor Glynis Breakwell, who has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Bath. You should have an excellent record of publications in major international journals, a successful track record in attracting external funding, and be able to offer research leadership in the area of social psychology.

We can offer you strong support for your research, including a sabbatical leave system, funding for equipment, research assistance, conferences, and travel. The Psychology Department’s strong research culture offers an exciting intellectual climate as well as many opportunities for collaborative and interdisciplinary work.

This is an opportunity to join a creative, influential and expanding psychology group. The Department is the UK’s largest provider of postgraduate education in psychology, offering seven taught masters degrees, research degrees, and practitioner doctorates in clinical psychology and in psychotherapeutic and counselling psychology.

Salary will be appropriate to the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, who will be asked to take up the appointment as soon as possible.
