| Social Psychology of Leadership | | | | | | | The Department of Psychology, University of Alberta, invites applications for a tenure-track position in a rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor in the Psychology of Leadership. The Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science are jointly launching a Leadership Certificate Program at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of this program, will teach one or more courses related to the objectives of the program, and will have expertise and a strong record of research and publications in areas related to the psychology of leadership, including (but not limited to) judgment and decision making, social influence and persuasion, morality, motivation, intergroup relations, interpersonal relations and group dynamics, communication, and the development of leadership skills, as well as related cultural influences and brain-behavior analyses. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D., must have demonstrated excellence in research, and must be strongly committed to excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is an asset. The Department of Psychology currently has strengths in behavioural and cognitive neuroscience, cognition, comparative cognition and behaviour, developmental science, and social and cultural psychology.
