The Department of Behavioral Science has a strong history of research and research training in substance abuse, including alcohol and/or drug abuse, and seeks to expand its research capacity in this area. A new full-time and tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level is available. The first priority for the successful candidate will be to develop an extramurally funded, nationally-recognized research program focused within the area of substance abuse. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the Department and College. Individuals with a background in any of a variety of social and behavioral sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, anthropology, nursing, public health, epidemiology, etc.) are encouraged to apply. A completed doctoral degree is required. In addition, candidates should have previous research experience in the application of behavioral or social science methods and theory to understanding substance abuse prevention, detection, treatment, or rehabilitation. The Department of Behavioral Science is a multidisciplinary, basic science department within the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky.
