We seek a person who can apply social science to quality of life concerns in communities. Research and teaching should focus on community-level processes (e.g., citizen participation, community development, nonprofit organizations and community agencies, demographic change, policy development, and evaluation). Areas of special interest are consumer issues in housing and transportation, aspects of livable communities, or disruptions to community systems and environments. Interdisciplinary perspectives are welcome. Faculty in the department examine the social, physical, and economic environments of family and the communities in which they live.
