The Department of Psychology at Rutgers University-Newark Campus seeks an assistant professor for a tenure-track position in either Developmental Psychology (e.g., social development) or Social Psychology (e.g., social cognition). The position begins 9/2015. Applicants possessing strong design and statistical skills are especially desired as the position will require the teaching of advanced graduate research methods and advanced statistical techniques (e.g., multivariate, scaling, modeling), in addition to other courses within the applicant’s primary area of interest, undergraduate courses and academic advising. Other core training areas in our doctoral program include Cognition/Perception and Neuroscience.
A Ph.D. in psychology or closely related discipline is required. The Psychology Department at Rutgers-Newark strongly emphasizes research, and offers excellent facilities including individual lab space, in-house tech support, and an ample and well-organized subject pool. The modern Rutgers University Brain Imaging Center (RUBIC) is on site. Rutgers-Newark is ranked among the top 15 small research universities in America, located minutes from New York City, and situated within a close network of excellent research institutions. The campus is also home to Schools of Business, Criminal Justice, Law, Nursing, and Social Work, and proximal to the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences – New Jersey Medical School.
