The College of Graduate Studies at the University of South Africa (Unisa) is inviting candidates to apply for the position of a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of social psychology with specific focus on intergroup research (under the supervision of Prof Kitty Dumont).
The candidate should have a doctoral degree/PhD in social psychology or a related field. S/he is expected to have experience in any one of the following or closely related areas: intergroup relations in the aftermath of mass trauma and conflicts, research on intergroup emotions, or status relations within and/or between groups. The candidate should have knowledge of both correlational and experimental methods and related statistical data analysis procedures. Besides independent research, the candidate will be expected to be involved in designing and implementing new research projects to complement and expand on existing research in the research group (including the preparation of competitive grant submissions and manuscripts for submission).
The candidate will be part of a very young research team consisting of postdoctoral fellows, PhD candidates and master’s students at the college. The successful candidate is expected to engage in the supervision and training of the Master’s students. The University of South Africa offers a competitive package to Postdoctoral Fellows.
