| Postdoctoral Fellowship Position | | | | | Institution/Organization: | Vanderbilt University Medical Center | Job Location: | Tennessee, U.S.A. | Job Type: | Postdoctoral | Contact Person: | Chandra Osborn | Date Posted: | May 8th, 2014 | | | | | | | | Position Title: Behavioral Intervention Technologies Postdoctoral Fellow Institution/location: Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), Nashville, TN VUMC’s Department of Medicine (DoM) and Center for Health Behavior and Health Education (CHBHE) has one post-doctoral fellowship position in behavioral intervention technologies available beginning in the summer/fall of 2014. VUMC’s DoM and CHBHE are committed to the development of the next generation of scientists, providing a wide range of opportunities to obtain knowledge, learn new methods, and develop interventions that educate, change behaviors, and improve health outcomes. This position is a two-year fellowship. The fellow will spend 100% of his or her time developing skills to successfully conduct health behavior change research, leverage consumer technologies (e.g., mobile phones, ‘apps’) to communicate health information and deliver behavioral interventions, and use qualitative, quantitative, and advanced statistical methods (e.g., modern tests of mediation/moderation, structural equation modeling) to test mechanisms, and inform and evaluate interventions. Opportunities: The fellow will have the opportunity to develop independent research questions within the scope of a larger research agenda, first-author and co-author research publications, present research findings at national meetings, and attend local/national trainings, workshops, seminars, and didactic courses to obtain new research skills and facilitate his/her career development. Eligibility: • Individuals who have completed their dissertation within the past two years or who have completed their dissertation by June 2014 • Earned a PhD in social/clinical/community psychology, DrPH, or equivalent in a health-related field Minimum Requirements: • Knowledge of health behavior change, chronic disease management, or medication management/adherence • Ability to work collaboratively on research projects, lead and work in teams • Ability to communicate research findings in presentations and publications • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative analyses applications (e.g., NVivo, SPSS) Compensation: $42,000-52,000 based on NIH pay scale for postdoctoral fellows Candidates should please send a cover letter and CV to Chandra Y.
