POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Tenure-track positions in Organizational Behavior and Strategy at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.

The Department of Management and Organization of the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California is seeking to add tenure-track faculty to its Organizational Behavior group. Candidates applying at the new assistant professor level should expect to have completed their Ph.D. by June 2002. Candidates wishing to apply at a more senior level should have a proven record of high quality research, and of teaching excellence at the undergraduate, MBA and/or Ph.D. level.

Founded in 1880, the University of Southern California (http://www.usc.edu) is one of the nation's leading private research universities, and is a member of the Association of American Universities. It is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a diverse faculty.

The Marshall School of Business (http://www.marshall.usc.edu) provides business education at the undergraduate, MBA, Executive, and Ph.D. levels. It has 169 full-time faculty members. The Marshall School is well connected with the business community in Southern California; the area has a vibrant and diverse economy, and is home to numerous companies in the entertainment, aerospace, biotechnology, real estate, health care, and banking industries. The School has a strong global orientation particularly in the Pacific Rim. The Marshall School has recently received one of the largest gifts ever donated to a business school. In the latest business school rankings, the Marshall MBA Program was 22nd (U.S. News and World Report) and 25th (Business Week); the Marshall Undergraduate Program was 11th (U.S. News and World Report).

The Department of Management and Organization (http://www.marshall.usc.edu/mor) has 21 tenure-track faculty members: Professors Paul Adler, Warren Bennis, Arvind Bhambri, Phil Birnbaum-More, Tom Cummings, Michael Driver, Sandy Green, Larry Greiner, Arturs Kalnins, Jay Kim, Peter Kim, Ed Lawler, Julia Porter Liebeskind, Kyle Mayer, Morgan McCall, Ian Mitroff, Alan Patz, Christine Porath, Nandini Rajagopalan, Kathleen Reardon, and Jeffrey Sanchez-Burks. The Department is also home to the Center for Effective Organizations (which includes Susan Cohen, Jay Conger, Christina Gibson, Edy Greenblatt, Sue Mohrman, and James O’Toole) and the Leadership Institute. Department faculty members teach required courses in Strategy and Organizational Behavior, as well as a wide variety of elective classes. The Department prides itself on its highly collegial atmosphere.
