| Faculty Position in Gerontology Studies | | | | | | | Tel Aviv University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position (rank open) in the Gerontology Studies Graduate Program. The Program is planned to be launched in 2015 under the joint sponsorship of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. The Program will provide multi-disciplinary studies on aging and old age. It will offer an M.A. degree. We are seeking outstanding applicants with a Ph.D. in a social science discipline (preferably gerontology, psychology, sociology, or social work), an active research program, academic publications, and teaching experience. The applicants' research and academic expertise should pertain to gerontological issues. Postdoctoral experience is advantageous. Any practical experience with vulnerable populations (as by clinical work, counseling, social engagement roles) is welcome. Candidates should be capable of teaching introductory courses in gerontology studies as related to their respective discipline (teaching in Hebrew is a requirement). The deadline for applications is April 30, 2014. Application materials should include the following: Curriculum Vitae including a list of publications; a letter that presents an outline of research achievements and plans, as well as preferences regarding teaching activity; copies of up to five publications; if available, teaching evaluations; and the names and contact information of three referees from academic institutions. One letter of recommendation by one of those referees may be included in the application materials.
