The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology beginning in August 2014. We expect to make the appointment at the Assistant Professor level, but will consider exceptional Associate Professor level candidates with a strong track record of external funding and peer-reviewed publications. Applicants in all areas of social psychology will be considered; however we are particularly interested in applicants who conduct research in the areas of social neuroscience or health. The ideal candidate must have the ability to: (a) develop and maintain a productive research program, including external funding; (b) supervise the thesis and dissertation research of graduate students; and (c) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in social psychology.

Wayne State University is ranked as a Carnegie “Very High Research” University and is ranked by NSF among the top public research universities in total R&D expenditures. The University is located in the cultural center of Detroit within a metropolitan area of more than four million people. The University offers more than 400 undergraduate and graduate academic programs through 12 schools and colleges to approximately 29,000 students. Review of applications will begin November 1, 2013 and continue until the position is filled. Successful applicants must have completed their Ph.D. by August 2014.
