The Department of Psychology at Providence College invites applications for a tenure track position in Social Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 2014. Successful candidates should possess a Ph.D. in social psychology and demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, the ability to establish a scholarly research program, the ability to engage undergraduate students in research, and a willingness to be active in service to the college and community. Typical teaching load is three courses per semester.

Although area of specialization within social psychology is open, the ideal candidate would also have overlapping interest in an area that would interest and involve undergraduates. Teaching responsibilities include a survey course in social psychology, a research course in social psychology (w/ lab, 4 credits), rotation through a year-long, integrated research methods/statistics course (w/ lab, 4 credits each semester), introduction to psychology, and an advanced seminar.
