Psychology Salary: £32,267 to £44,607 Closing Date: Monday 06 May 2013 Interview Date: To be confirmed Reference: A694
The Department of Psychology at Lancaster has a core complement of 27 members of academic staff and a thriving community of postdoctoral researchers and PhD students. The Department is well resourced and our group testing cognitive laboratories contain extensive software for experiments much of which is written in-house.
We are seeking to appoint three new lecturers to contribute to the development of key research areas in our department. It is envisaged that we will appoint lecturers in the following areas:
We are expanding the membership of all three subgroups [cognitive psychology, social psychology and investigative expertise] and we are interested in making strategic developments to enhance the outputs and connectivity throughout the department. We especially invite candidates who would add to, or complement, a large research group which encompasses the applications of these sub-disciplines.
You should be an excellent researcher with internationally recognized publications and show a potential for securing external research funding. It would be an advantage if you would also be able to demonstrate how your research could, over the course of the next decade, have a significant impact on policy and practice outside academia.
You will be expected to make a significant contribution to the Department’s research and teaching in psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We would particularly welcome contributions to teaching in cognitive or social psychology.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be addressed to Prof Charlie Lewis (email: c.lewis@lancaster.ac.uk; Tel: 01524 593822). Further information about the Department is available at: http://www.psych.lancs.ac.uk
