The Department of Psychology at the University of Essex, United Kingdom, is seeking applications for Reader/Senior Lecturers (equivalent to Associate Professor) or Lecturers (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Social Psychology and Developmental Psychology. We would like to make one appointment in Social Psychology and one appointment in Developmental Psychology.
The two posts are permanent with start dates of May 1, 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter. For Lecturer level appointments, applicants must have a proven record of research and the ability to attract external research funding. Experience of teaching or the demonstrable potential for achieving this is essential; as is a PhD in Psychology. In addition, for appointment at Reader/Senior Lecturer level, proven research excellence as demonstrated by a substantial number of high quality publications including papers in top ranked international journals and leadership skills are needed.
The successful candidates will be expected to contribute in an area of social psychology or developmental psychology that complements our broad research interests and make a significant contribution to the Department’s research and teaching activities. Administrative and examining duties as well as the supervision of students are also required of the post.
