| Tenure-Track Positions in Psychology | | | | | | | The Calvin College Psychology Department invites applications for two anticipated tenure-track positions beginning in August of 2013, pending administrative approval. Requirements: Requirements include a Ph.D. in psychology, and evidence of quality teaching experience/potential. These positions also require demonstrated productivity in an active program of empirical research and plans for a continuing research program. We are especially interested in research that holds promise of collaboration with undergraduate students. The positions require specialization in one or more of the following areas: clinical (preferably with an emphasis in health or cognitive / behavioral intervention), social, cognitive, learning, developmental, or the integration of scientific psychology and Christian philosophy/theology. Responsibilities: The positions involve teaching at the undergraduate level in the applicant’s area of specialization, as well as two out of the following courses: introductory psychology, statistics, and research methods. The typical teaching load is 3 classes each semester, usually involving 2 course preparations per semester with a total of 3-4 course preparations per academic year. The Calvin Psychology Department graduates approximately 60 psychology majors each year (65% of whom eventually earn advanced degrees). Application Process: As a liberal arts college rooted in the Reformed tradition of Christianity, we seek applicants personally committed to this faith tradition. Applicants should submit a one-page statement of their understanding of and commitment to Reformed Christianity.
