The Department of Psychology at Colorado State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Applied Social Psychology, with an appointment date of August 15, 2012. The position is at the rank of assistant professor, although exceptional candidates at higher ranks may be considered with a strong, recent record of external funding for research.

The philosophy of the Applied Social Psychology Program is to use social psychological principles (i.e., theory and empirical foundations) and strong research methods to investigate socially based issues and to evaluate ameliorative efforts associated with these issues. The ideal candidate will focus on one or more of the following topics: contextual influences on health (e.g., environment, social relationships, workplace), risky health behaviors, and health disparities across the life course (e.g., ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation). Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses in social and health psychology, and depending upon the candidate’s interests and background, may also include General Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, History of Psychology, or graduate statistics. A full description of the position and online submission of application materials can be found at:

Applications will be considered until the position is filled; however, to ensure full consideration, applications must be received by October 17, 2011. Complete applications of the semi-finalist candidates will be available to department faculty for review. CSU is an EO/EA/AA employer. Colorado State University conducts background checks on all final candidates.
