| Research Engineer: Experimental Psychology | | | | | | | The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore's national agency for promoting world-class research in science and technology, seeks a research engineer with a research interest in human interaction and social behavior. The candidate will join an interdisciplinary research team whose vision it is to develop social interaction technologies that enable people to use their natural communication capabilities to operate robots and other autonomous devices. Research topics include human perception, attention, and emotion. The candidate should have expertise in one or more of the following fields: Human-robot interaction, usability evaluation, or human-factor studies. The research is hosted by the Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), a research institute within A*STAR that build on strong capabilities in computational modeling, simulation, and visualization technologies to solve challenging scientific and engineering problems. Positions will be for an initial period of two years. A*STAR is an equal opportunity employer valuing diverse cultures and disciplines in our research environment. Requirements: PhD in Psychology, Human-factors, Ergonomics or any related field. Candidates should have experience with experimental design and a background in statistics as well as qualitative analysis. Preferably, candidates already have some experience using statistical analysis software such as SPSS, S-PLUS, or R.
