We seek a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor who can, beginning in August 2011, share in the Department's commitment to diversity in its faculty, staff, and students. We seek a colleague who will be a dedicated teacher, active scholar, and effective mentor for students with diverse backgrounds, preparation, and career goals. The position requires the ability to teach undergraduate social psychology and courses in one or more of the following social-related fields: gender, groups, relationships, health, leadership, I/O, motivation, social cognition, personality, psych and law, or the candidate’s area of specialization. The Department has a solid record of mentoring undergraduate students in research, both as independent researchers in a well-established undergraduate honors program and as research assistants to faculty. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate excellence as a teacher and adviser as well as develop an active research program involving undergraduate students. All requirements for a doctorate degree in social psychology or highly related field, including dissertation, must be completed prior to the August 2011 start date. Teaching experience strongly preferred. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and/or experience working with diverse populations are particularly encouraged to apply.
