The Department of Psychology at Mississippi State University is searching for a Department Head at the rank of Professor, beginning July 1, 2011. Candidates must have a PhD, an established research and extramural funding record, a commitment to academic excellence in research and teaching, and strong administrative skills. The substantive research and teaching area in psychology is open.

The degree programs offered in the Department include a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Cognitive Science (an interdisciplinary program), and Master of Science in psychology with emphases in clinical (MPAC accredited), and experimental psychology. The Department consists of 15 faculty, 425 undergraduate majors, 35+ MS students, and 10 PhD students. Faculty are involved in research with many affiliated institutes, including the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems, the Institute for Neurocognitive Science and Technology, and the Social Science Research Center. They also generate a significant amount of competitive research funding. More information on the department is available at:
