The Wellesley College Department of Psychology invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in the area of social psychology, to begin July 2011. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in psychology. The ideal candidate would be an excellent teacher, with a strong research program that would involve undergraduate students. For this position, preference will be given to candidates who evidence a breadth of interests appropriate to a liberal arts undergraduate institution. This position involves a four course per year teaching load, at all levels of the curriculum, and will include: social psychology, introductory psychology, research methods in social psychology, and a seminar in the applicant’s specialty area. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interest focuses on a topic central to social psychology, such as prejudice and stereotyping; implicit attitudes; intergroup processes; etc.
