| Postdoctoral Research Fellow | | | | | | | The University of Birmingham College of Life and Environmental Sciences School of Sport and Exercise Sciences announces a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship with a starting salary of £24,273 in the range of £24,273 to £26,523 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to £29,853). The School is looking to appoint a research fellow for a project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). This project uses self-determination theory and models of self-regulation to examine behavioural and affective responses when facing (a) increasingly difficult goals and (b) unattainable goals. The project requires the running of two lab-based studies. The research fellow should undertake administrative and research duties under the supervision of the Project Director, Dr. Nikos Ntoumanis, and other members of the project team (Prof. Joan Duda, School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, University of Birmingham) and Prof. Constantine Sedikides (School of Psychology, University of Southampton). Candidates for the post must have a post graduate degree in sport psychology or social psychology (preferably to doctoral level, or be very close to a PhD completion) and should have a good background in motivational theories and experimental methodology.
