The Civic Education Project (CEP), a nonprofit organization engaged in educational reform in 23 countries in post-communist Europe and Eurasia, seeks a Director of External Relations to be based in its New Haven, Connecticut, office. The Director will oversee the fundraising and publicity efforts of CEP in North America and coordinate these efforts with colleagues in Europe and Eurasia. The Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate government, corporate, and foundation entities as well as private donors. The Director will also serve as a liaison for the Board of Directors and will work closely with the Director of Finance and President of CEP. Some travel is required.

Qualifications include an advanced degree in one of the social sciences or law, experience in international programs, exceptional written and oral communication skills, and familiarity with basic financial concepts. Experience with PR/fundraising and interest in post-communist Europe/Eurasia are strongly preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
