The Department of Psychology at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to 6 tenured or tenure-track faculty positions: Up to 3 in social psychology, 1 in industrial/organizational psychology, and up to 2 in Africana Studies. Individuals whose work falls into one of these fields exclusively or combines one of these fields with others in psychology are encouraged to apply. These positions will begin September 1, 2009.

SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY: Three positions may be filled, with the search targeted at the Assistant Professor level although exceptional individuals at any rank are encouraged to apply. Specific area of expertise is open. The successful applicants must be prepared to teach basic and advanced undergraduate and graduate social psychology courses in our expanding Social program.

INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY: A position may be filled at the assistant professor rank. Applications for this position are invited from any area of I/O psychology; applicants with expertise and interests in quantitative methods are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate level and in our doctoral program in I/O psychology.

AFRICANA STUDIES: A position may be filled at the assistant professor rank and will be jointly appointed with the Africana Studies Program. Applications for this position are invited from individuals with research and teaching interests focusing on issues broadly related to the intersection of psychology and Africana studies, including but not limited to the social, cognitive, and health-related development of African-American children and their families. The successful applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to Africana Studies as a discipline.
