The Duke Interdisciplinary Initiative in Social Psychology (DIISP) Laboratory is seeking a full-time Research Coordinator. The position provides support to the research activities of the faculty and students who use the lab though programming and running experiments, coordinating undergraduate research assistants, conducting literature searches, and basic data analysis. In addition, the Research Coordinator will assist Dr. Wendy Wood, faculty Lab Director, with day-to-day operations of the DIISP Laboratory. This is a large interdisciplinary social science facility serving faculty in psychology, political science, marketing, sociology and behavioral economics. The coordinator also will help to build and maintain a database of research participants and train new faculty and student users of the lab.

The position is ideal for someone with a strong undergraduate background in psychology or closely related field who is planning to enter graduate school in the future. Experience with the following software packages is desirable, but not required: SPSS, Excel, Media Lab, Direct RT. The ideal candidate will have excellent time-management skills and attention to detail along with the ability to juggle multiple varied tasks. A typical day might involve programming and running experiments, helping to compose IRB protocols, helping to plan new experiments, and meeting with students to tell them about lab resources.

Attractions of the position include the exciting intellectual atmosphere of DIISP, the collegial work environment with the two postdoctoral associates in the Lab, the lovely temperate climate of North Carolina, and the highly student-oriented local area in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill and the Research Triangle. The position has a competitive compensation package, including Duke Health benefits.

Please direct inquiries to Dr. David Neal, DIISP Lab Director, dneal@duke.edu.
