The Macalester College Psychology Department seeks candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Social Psychology for appointment in Fall 2008. Responsibilities include teaching intermediate and advanced courses in area of specialization as well as alternating with other instructors in teaching the research methodology and statistics sequence. Area of specialization is open. We welcome applicants whose interests are in applied social psychology (e.g., judgment and decision-making; law; health; environmental issues), or whose work has an international focus. The typical teaching load is five courses per year in addition to supervising student research.

Macalester faculty have the opportunity to contribute to a multicultural curriculum and to participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching in such areas as American Studies, Cognitive and Neuroscience Studies, Educational Studies, Environmental Studies, International Studies, Urban Studies, and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Excellent start-up funds and lab facilities will be provided.

Candidates should have a Ph.D in hand by time of appointment. Preference will be given to gifted teachers and scholars who can involve undergraduate students in their research. Additional information about the college and the department is available at our web site:
