The University: Elizabeth City State University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina. The Spring 2000 enrollment was 1,854 students, 45% of whom lived in campus residence halls. The university is proud of its diverse student body, 76% of whom are African American, 23% are White and 1% is of other ethnic backgrounds. The university's annual operating budget is approximately $40 million.
Applications are accepted for the following positions until the positions are filled; review of applications will begin June 16, 2000. Candidates must show evidence of successful teaching,research and service. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Assistant/Associate Professor (Psychology - Tenure Track).
Responsibilities: Teach primarily methods courses; manage the experimental/research laboratories and facilitate undergraduate research activities. Other duties include serving as advisor to psychology majors, participating in program planning; assisting in the development of a history and systems course. Research productivity, scholarly activities and pursuit of research grant writings are strongly encouraged. Requirements: Terminal Degree in Psychology; strong computer skills and university teaching of experimental/research courses are required.
