The International Graduate College "Conflict and Cooperation between Social Groups" at the University of Jena, Germany (with partner sites in Belgium and the UK) awards three fellowships for doctoral students, starting October 1st and tenable for up to three years. The scope of the research program is concerned with the antecedents, underlying processes, and effects of change in the relations between social groups. The change perspective covers such fundamental issues as outgroup devaluation, intergroup discrimination and cooperation, tolerance towards outgroups and multicultural diversity. As part of the fellowship program, all participating units offer state-of-the-art facilities for the empirical research endeavours of the participants. In addition, a study program is offered with special seminars, workshops, summer schools and site visits to the collaborating units. The program language is English.
Applicants should have a strong background in cognitive, educational, personality, or social psychology.
