I am a results driven, inquisitive, and energetic individual who loves to learn and try new things. I thoroughly enjoy working with people and love to help students learn by finding out where they want to go and then use my extensive professional background in engineering and management and education to assist them in achieving their goals.
I spent 37 years in engineering and upon obtaining my MDIV degree a year ago had the opportunity to do a career change into the education field. I have thoroughly enjoyed my doctoral program at Grand Canyon University (PhD in Psychology with emphasis on Cognition and Instruction) and my English Language Learner teaching position at the Catherine McAuley Center (CMC) in Cedar Rapids, IA.
I have been married for over 35 years and have two boys who are married. My oldest, Phillip is currently teaching in India with his wife, Jen and will return in November of this year to finish up his Masters at Dallas Theological Seminary. My youngest boy has just moved back to Marion, IA. with his wife, Erin, and they have just had their second child, a girl whom they names Lilianna Noel. That is our second grandchild - and first granddaughter :)
I am desiring to focus on the areas of personalities, impact of social media, curriculum development, and teaching as I continue to work my way through my PhD program. I desire to teach at the college, graduate, or doctoral level upon completion of m degree.
My hobbies include woodworking, tennis, hiking, mountain biking, reading, and spending time with my family that includes two rescue greyhounds named Memphis and Charlie.
