Dear Colleagues,

We wanted to bring to your attention several cross-disciplinary funding opportunities relevant to social psychologists:

IBSS: Interdisciplinary Behavioral and Social Sciences supports interdisciplinary projects that involve scientists from two or more disciplinary fields within the Social, Behavioral, and Economic (SBE) Sciences Directorate at the National Science Foundation. The deadline for proposals is December 2, 2014:

INSPIRE: Integrated NSF Support Promoting Interdisciplinary Research and Education seeks to provide substantial funding in support of unusually bold, creative or unconventional interdisciplinary research that involves potentially transformative advances that cut across multiple NSF directorates:

We also wanted to let you know about a federal funding opportunity outside of NSF that will support social science research. The MINERVA program will support a broad range of research topics pertaining to social and cultural dynamics that can impact U.S. security interests. White paper deadlines are: October 31, 2014, with full proposals due January 30, 2015. Details are available in funding opportunity #ONRBAA14-013 through the grants.gov website, or contact Erin Fitzgerald, Program Director, Minerva Research Initiative (osd.minerva@mail.mil).

Sincerely,

Kerry L. Marsh, Ph.D. (kmarsh@nsf.gov; 703-292-7281)
